• Ask the expert. Request someone in your field to watch your course and provide a feedback or leave an honest review. Tell them to mention their own professional expertise along with the review so students can see that your course is up to their level.

Respond to reviews and ratings

Receiving your first review is exhilarating but it can be nerve-wracking too. Use each opportunity to engage with the student and learn. Students want to see the same personal attention you provided in your course. So respond appropriately to both negative and positive reviews and ratings. Here are some tips on how to best respond to various ratings.

• Ratings above 4 stars. Address students by their name and say thanks. Recognize their effort as a student.
• Ratings below 4 stars. Acknowledge any negative feedback and offer a positive solution such as a course update or additional materials. For example: “Thank you (name) for the review. Can anything be added or changed in the course to make it better for you? Thanks again for the feedback.”
• Star ratings without text. Ask the student for more specific information. Be friendly and remember that other students can see your responses. For example: “Thank you (name). You marked X and Y as not up to your expectations. Can you let me know what I can do to improve these parts of the course for you?”

How long does Udemy take to review and approve

Submitted my first course "How to monetize your construct 2 games with admob ads 2019" on June 11, 2019 and got feedback on June 13, 2019 asking me to rename bonus lecture as "Bonus Lecture" and not to mention what the bonus is in either the description or title.

Mail chimp suddenly terminated my account on 28th May, 2019 even though I did not violate any of their policies. I contacted them about it through their online form on 28th May, 2019 at around 6 pm.

This is my message to them:

I am seeting this message: "Our automated abuse-prevention system, Omnivore, has detected an action or content in your account that may be in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy.". So far I only have 1 campaign where I am getting sign ups in return for downloading my ebook. I am not sure what policy I have violated, any advice is much appreciated.

But my mind is already made up - I won't be using their service. They are like google play, who likes to terminate accounts without giving details.

Recording head talking videos

To record head talking videos you should use ipad mounted on a music stand just in front of your table. Print the script and clip it to the front of the ipad - covering the screen so that you can look directly at it whilst giving the impression you are talking to the ipad camera.

Behind the ipad, on the table, put you fifine microphone and set to recording 90% and set the volume control to 3/4 max.

Start the ipad recording, then start audacity on the pc.

After recording, upload the mov file to googledrive using the googledrive app on the ipad.

Download to your PC and install handbrake:

Make sure you download version 1.1.2 and not the latest version. The latest version will fail to run because of a .net problem.

Use the handbrake app to convert your mov file to mp4.  Do not use VLC to convert mov to mp4 - it will cause Camtasia to fail during exporting of video for production.

on how to update the book cover. In summary, it involves the following steps:

1. Go to your Bookshelf
2. Click the ellipsis button ("…") under KINDLE EBOOK ACTIONS or PAPERBACK ACTIONS next to the book you want to update
3. Choose Edit eBook content or Edit paperback content. This takes you to the Content page
4. Scroll down to the "Cover" section
5. Choose Launch Cover Creator or Upload your cover file to update your cover or upload a cover you already have. Once the content completes the upload process, the message "Cover uploaded successfully" will appear and the conversion process will start. (This can take several minutes depending on the complexity of the file)
6. Go to the "Kindle eBook Preview" or "Book Preview" section
7. Click Launch Previewer and make sure your updated cover looks as expected
8. Click Save and continue. This takes you to the Pricing page
9. Click the publish button at the bottom of this page

After completing the design, I exported the png file, then used gimp to convert to jpg at 90%.
I then submitted the new cover to amazon kindle. Note that book covers must be in jpg format. See Fig 2 below.

The status sates: Updates in review and the date and time I submitted is 27-April, 2019 at 6.30 pm.

Upon checking the following morning 28-April, 2019 at 10 am, I was pleasantly surprised that the updates were already approved and was LIVE. Looks like the update took less than 24 hours!

Importance of a proper title

Give the readers what they want by giving it a title they can't resist.
Then in the contents give them what they need, or, what you want to write about.
Alternatively, the title is the catch and the subtitle is what they will be getting.
You don't have to change the content, you just need to change the title in order to attract the reader.
